Biophilic design is the concept of connecting people to nature, both directly and indirectly, by incorporating natural materials, natural light, vegetation, nature views and other forms of nature into modern builds.
Incorporating nature into where we live and work can contribute greatly to our health and well-being!

TIPS
This is what landlords DON’T tell you — you can still decorate and personalize your space even when you’re just renting!
Mood lighting - Lighting plays a big role in setting the mood of a room. Use color-changing lamps to change the mood anytime depending on what you feel like.
Tapestry or removable wallpaper - If the walls are too boring for you, decorate it with a tapestry or removable wallpaper. Just make sure that the adhesives won’t leave any residue upon removal. You wouldn’t want to pay for damages upon move out.
Houseplants - Most rental spaces don’t come with a garden or outdoor area. Bring in the natural world to your room by adding houseplants.
Rugs or carpets - Add a pop of color to your room by placing a rug or carpet that matches your personality.
Curtains - Change the vibe of your room by changing the curtains. This is an easy and a safe way to personalize your space.
Be creative and have fun decorating your space!

Which style do you like best to light up your house?
Pendant lights hang from the ceiling, typically over a kitchen island or a large amount of counter space. This type of fixture is perfect for task lighting or controlling your kitchen’s atmosphere.
Pot lights are typically seen in hallways and smaller spaces. They are recessed into the ceiling or are closer to the ceiling than a hanging light fixture. Pot lights work best if the space is smaller or there is a low ceiling.

PERSONAL
When was the last time you prioritized self-care on social media?
Self-care is essential for a healthy mind and well-being. We often spend too much time online and it can lead to many negative thoughts and unproductive hours. Here are five tips for social media self-care:
- Create boundaries. How often do you go online? Are you on too many social platforms? Do you spend too many hours scrolling through stories or reels? It’s okay to spend your down time online, it can even be relaxing. However, you must also create boundaries for yourself on what is healthy and too much.
- Find your people. It’s important to surround yourself with a community of like-minded people to connect with, learn from, and inspire you to be the best version of yourself. On that note, allow yourself to unfollow and mute people who give you negative or toxic thoughts.
- Don’t believe everything you see. Remember that not everything you see on social media is real. Many things we see online can make us feel insecure and doubt ourselves. However, we must remember that it’s easy to frame things and we don’t really know what’s happening behind the camera.
- Self-reflect. Assess how you feel before, during, and after social media use. Do you feel energized or drained? Do you feel hopeful or does it make you feel sad?
- Engage in a social media purge. Every now and then, it’s good to take time off on social media especially if it’s not helping you to be productive or if it’s leading you to negative thoughts. Make it a habit to reduce your time online, spend your time on things that will inspire you, and spend time with people you love.
