The best place to start is your home. Here are 6 ways to make your home more energy-efficient:

First, add insulation can help keep the warmth in during winter and keep the heat out during summer which can significantly reduce your heating and cooling costs.
Next, switch to energy-efficient lighting. Switch to LED or CFL bulbs as they can cut down your electricity bill and can last longer than traditional incandescent bulbs. You may also want to consider installing motion sensor lighting.

Third, seal air leaks. Put caulking and weatherstrip around your windows and doors as it can also help reduce energy use and decrease your heating and cooling costs.

Another thing you can do is to install energy-efficient appliances. Replace old appliances. Usually, older models of appliances consume a lot of energy as they are not yet designed to be energy-efficient.

Fifth, invest in solar panels. This might be a bit costly but it will definitely pay off in the long run because of how much you can save from your monthly bills and also the help you are able to give to save Mother Earth. Lastly, use smart home devices. Installing a smart home system can easily help you control your appliances at home even while you’re away, helping you save energy when you forget to turn your appliances off when you leave the house.
