It’s not required but it is customary for a seller to leave appliances such as refrigerators or ovens for the buyer. When you encounter a seller that doesn’t want to include the appliances, it can be a key part of your negotiation.
Getting appliances with the house is definitely ideal and will save you a few thousand dollars. You can even negotiate for new appliances or for them to repair the current appliances.
Of course, this all depends on market conditions and competition. If negotiating for appliances can hurt your chance of them accepting your offer, then you might want to consult your real estate agent first.
